Hello, Nice to Meet You

Hello, Nice to Meet You

Hello

My name is Angela. I am a nursing student hoping to become a CRNA one day. At first, I was convinced I was going premed and I was preparing for myself to do just that. However, the more I continued to ask myself the “why” questions, the more I was able to clearly see where I wanted to go.

This journey is definitely far from easy. Whether you are going to be a physician, PA, nurse, etc., your journey and efforts are important and valuable.

How did Yooniquecorn Idea Come About?

At first, I didn’t know I would ever start something like this. The first time I decided to make a pin was when I was doodling for Bangs Shoe’s Blitz Day post. I was doodling away and then a thought hit me “what if what I drew became a tangible item?” This idea intrigued me. So, that’s how I made my very first soft enamel pin - Dream Dreams Pin. This pin still holds a special place in my heart. I hope to remake the pin in hard enamel in the future. From there, I started to make more pin design after design, and here I am!

Mission

I hope that whoever comes across my pins will be inspired and encouraged to not give up on their dreams. Yes, it’s hard but so are you! Enjoy the journey you’re on. You got this!

Why is it YooniqueCorn?

There are two parts to this name. The first part is Yoonique and the second part is Corn.

“Yoon” is my Korean name. During my time working at an optometry office, my coworker gave me the nickname “Yooniecorn.” From that, I altered it to “Yoonique.” It sounds like the word “unique” and I was intentionally going for that. Ever since I was little, I was told that I’m weird. At first, I thought it was a negative thing, but now I embrace my weirdness and take it as a compliment. I like being me. There may be someone similar but not quite the same. There’s only one me in the world. So I wanted whoever comes across the products I sell, to learn to love themselves and embrace their uniqueness.

At the same time, it’s also a personal reminder of me to love myself as well. There may be someone else who has the name Yoon (as a first name), but there’s is only one Yoon that is like me. And I wanted me to remember that as I walk through life.

The second part “Corn” is added for two purposes. First, it makes the name sound like a “unicorn.” Unicorns are mythical creatures that generally symbolize magic, miracles, and enchantment. I wanted those sporting my pins to be themselves and enchant others with their own uniqueness.

The other reason is more personal for me. I personally really like corny jokes and puns. So I had to somehow weave that part of myself into the brand name. And so, Corn was added.

Tadaaa~ that is how the name YooniqueCorn came to life!
